Arrival success

We gathered together early and made to the long trip down to Costa Rica.  It seemed like the whole plane was full of a variety of mission teams.  There was a large group from North Carolina that had a puppet and dance ministry and another group from Norcross, GA that was doing VBS to the less fortunate areas around San Jose’.

The thing that captured my thoughts were the number of people pouting into this community. Even as we know we are only a small team of eleven, and that we may never see the results of our investment, the joy was to know that Christ was moving in this area.  There were believers in Jesus that were spending vacations, money and energy to go love others. Yes, it may be a good get away from our reality, but it is still an outpouring desire to encourage and love others.

We got to meet up with Will and Ella and we are excited that we get to go up to a rural church tomorrow morning on the side of a volcano. (I just hope that they don’t get all crazy with sacrificial offerings!!) We hope to post more details, but just wanted to let our family and friends know that all is well and if our devotionals tonight are anything like the rest of the week, it is going to be a blessing we could not even imagine.

Thanks for the update, Dano. We will continue to pray that God will pour out His blessing on this trip, each of you and the people you touch.

Lord Jesus I pray now that you place a hedge of protection on all those doing mission work in Costa Rica. Lord let the glory of your love shine through each person there drawing the lost to the salvation that only you can give. Let each person speak words that produces that fruit of salvation that you have offered through your death on the cross and resurrection from the dead. See each person safely back home from the mission trip and thank you Lord Jesus for your mercy, forgiveness, kindness, and great love for each of us. In your name Jesus I pray. Amen.
